Winter Warmth Funding

If you’re struggling with your finances over the Festive period Peterborough City Councils Winter Warmth Funding is here to help. There’s information in this post (click <Read More> if necessary), or click here to find out more.

Peterborough City Council's WINTER WARMTH FUNDING We know that many of you are concerned about your finances this winter even with measures put in place by the Government- but Peterborough City Council is here to help. While we can't affect the cost of energy, we can do our best to maximise your household income, offer energy efficiency advice and refer households into Government grant funded energy efficiency measures. One of those measures is LEAP, a free fuel poverty outreach service providing help and support to vulnerable residents - at no cost to the council or residents. Those who are eligible for LEAP include people receiving income-related employment and support allowance, those receiving income-based Jobseeker's Allowance and Income support, and people receiving Housing Benefit or a Disability Benefit. If you have a total annual household income of less than £31,000, you may also be eligible. Warmer LEAP Homes PETERBOROUGH There are many other avenues for you to explore, including the Warmer Homes Scheme which includes the Green Homes Grant for on gas properties and the Home Upgrade Grant to properties off the gas network. Both run until March 2023 and could fund insulation, solar pv panels, heat retentive storage heaters, air source heat pumps and smart heating controls to make your home more energy efficient. To qualify your home must have an inefficient energy rating (EPC E, F or G, we can check this) and you must have a household income of less than £30,000 There's the Winter Warmth funding delivered through Peterborough Care and Repair. If you are on a means tested benefit or have an income below £30,000, you could receive help to service, repair or replace your boiler, fit double glazing, address damp issues or many other measures. These resources are there for our residents this winter - and they can all be accessed through our website. If you, or someone you know can benefit, please get in touch. LEAP is a free fuel poverty outreach service providing help and support to vulnerable residents - at no cost to the council or residents.
